Using Power Automate to mitigate ownerless Microsoft 365 Groups and Teams
Ownerless groups occur because of the mover and leavers process. An Administrator removes the user from the Group or closes their account. If there is no other owner in the Group then the Group becomes ownerless. Ownerless Microsoft 365 Groups causes several issues:
– The Group has no accountability
– Membership requests to join private groups stay unapproved because no owner exists to process requests.
– If Azure AD Access reviews or Expiration reviews are enforced then there is no owner to either review the membership of the Group or confirm whether the Group is still needed.
This session will show you how to build a Power Automate process to reassign the Group and Team ownership to the user’s manager.
