Ståle Hansen on Office 365 for IT Pros

Office 365 is updated constantly with new features, and some features evolve or replace old features. When searching for technical articles or blogs on these subjects, you never know if it is up to date information or if the information is in context of similar features that does almost the same thing. Office 365 Groups is such a topic. Because Office 365 and Groups have been around for quite some time, it is difficult to find actual content on the new Office 365 Groups which Microsoft Teams, Planner, Modern SharePoint sites and Stream uses. I found this book very helpful when I was in that situation because it is updated multiple times per month, is in context of existing features and reflected on by MVP’s with practical knowledge.

This was enough for me, to know I had the up to date information and best practice use of Groups today. It gave me the jump start I needed to understand the basics of Microsoft 365 Groups. I liked it so much that I asked if they needed my insights on Skype for Business and Cloud Voice back. I am now part of the author team and this is my fourth edition, I wrote the chapter on managing Teams calling and meetings. I totally recommend this book to those who are working with Office 365 as IT Pros. I use it actively myself.

– Ståle Hansen, CEO and Principal Cloud Architect at CloudWay and co-author of Office 365 for IT Pros

Written by a team of highly experienced Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs), Office 365 for IT Pros (2021 edition) is a practical, hands-on reference, based on experience gained by working in real-life projects with a range of customers since the introduction of Office 365 in June 2011. Because we keep an eye on what Microsoft does inside Office 365, you don’t have to worry about making decisions based on outdated material – we do all the work for you.

The Massive Scale of Office 365

Companies are migrating to Office 365 at increasing speed. As of April 2019, Microsoft says that over 180 million active users use Office 365. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella calls Exchange Online “the gateway drug to the cloud” because email is usually the first workload to move from on-premises servers into the cloud. But as you’ll learn in Office 365 for IT Pros, once you’ve moved email, there are plenty of new and exciting advantages to be gained from the wide breadth of functionality that exists elsewhere inside Office 365.

Office 365 for IT Pros (2021 edition) covers essential business productivity features such as Microsoft Teams, Office 365 Groups, Stream, Planner, Flow, PowerApps, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business. You’ll learn about Office 365 data governance, compliance, and eDiscovery, and how to exploit the Office 365 audit log to understand what’s really happening inside a tenant. A chapter on Azure Information Protection teaches you how to use Office 365 to protect sensitive messages and documents with rights management and encryption.
